What We Believe
Our Belief Statement
God
We believe in one living and true God, eternal and of infinite power, wisdom, goodness and righteousness, God who is the Creator and preserver of all things.
Jesus Christ
We believe in the divine nature of Jesus Christ, God’s only son, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin named Mary. Christ Rose from the dead and ascended into heaven in full victory over Satan and sin.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit as the person and expression of the Holy Trinity who lives within us, giving us the power to live a holy life and guiding us to truth. His presence is evidenced by the believer speaking in other tongues and is what makes Charleston Worship Center unique. When Jesus said I must leave, He sent the Holy Spirit to us.
The Authority of Scripture
We believe that the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments combined constitute the whole Bible; no books may be added or deleted. The Holy Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit and is inerrant.
Salvation
Because people are unable to save themselves from their sinful condition, salvation is altogether the work of God. Salvation is a free gift of God. This gift is received by faith, or by believing and trusting in Jesus Christ who died as our substitute that we might live.
Gifts of the Spirit
We understand the Bible to be very specific and clear as it pertains to the gifts of the Spirit and their manifestations in the present day church. We believe they are both available and operable not only in our church gatherings, but that they should be evident in our everyday lives.
Praise and Worship
With praise and worship being the foundation of our ministry, Charleston Worship Center strives for Kingdom excellence in the areas of worship. Our goal is to restore the heart of worship in our Charleston community and the entire world. Also, we want to identify, nurture, and develop individuals that God has chosen and purposed to be leaders and examples in the ministry of music.
Missions
God's power changes lives. Corporately as a church, we obey His Great Commission by reaching out with God's love to others. Anywhere in the world, the faithfulness of one individual can make a difference. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
